北宋范寬曾說:師古人不如師造化,師造化不如師心源。我的創作靈感常取之於大自然,但最後呈現出來的卻是我心靈的圖像。
<光陰帖>系列是近兩年的繪畫創作,其構想是自北宋巨作<谿山行旅圖>而來。奇峰巨岩矗立於畫面正中央,范寬以精密的筆法描繪山石川林,地表氣象。但與之不同的,是我企圖把目光聚焦於地質石層演化的本身。從浸潤、風蝕、堆疊的外化形貌,到炎熔、積澱、晶結的內在潛變,來探索時間與物質的互動與消長。
東方繪畫常以物喻心,以景寫情,我也有意將大地之象與人心性靈做一番連結。因為地質或鬆軟、或堅硬,不同的質性,便衍生出不同的地理面貌,而觀諸於人的秉性與心性,又何嘗不是如此。
<光陰帖>畫作描繪的既是"地",也是"心",一連串生命樣態的展現。
在異國求學的過程中,瞭解繪畫其實是一種語言,一種媒介,目的在於建立創作者與觀者之間心靈溝通的管道。於是我藉由創作,也要提出個人在水墨繪畫上,不同於傳統的觀點和技法。除了掌握水性素材,著重色墨表現,也進行著媒材的探索與技法開發,期待在水墨繪畫上能呈現出一番新意。
Fan, Kuan of Northern Song Dynasty said:" Learning from the ancient does not deserve from fortune; but Learning from fortune does not deserve from my heart. My original works of art comes frequently from the nature, and the final establishment is from the complexity of my mind and spirit.
The series of "Time" was completed in last two years, it's structure comes from one of the master pieces in Northern Sung Dynasty, titled "Travelling on Xi Mountain", standing steeply the spectacular mountaintops and huge rocks drawn in the center of the drawing. Fan, Kuan, the painter, drew the mountains, stones, rivers, and forest, weather or earth with brush drill. But I make it different from him is that I pay my attention to focus on geological stone walls deriving itself; the outward appearance for soaking, erosing, piling up, and from the inside change of melting, sedimenting and crystallizing, so that I can research the mutual influence and appear/disappear between time and materials.
Oriental drawing often takes materials for heart, expresses feeling by scenery. Also I have an intention to make an connection between the earth's phenomenon and the heart, spirit. Because it follows that Geological changes if before the changes of the earth's phenomenon. It is the same of the changes of human being.
"Time" draws not only the earth, but the heart, and the display of all sorts of human being.
During studying abroad, I realized drawing is but a kind of language, media, to establish a channel for mutual understanding between the painter and the audience. By means of my own works, I offer my opinion and skill different from the traditional methods. I am able to control wash materials, take care of color ink, in addition to the development and methods of medium materials, hoping to present a new idea in the wash ink drawing.
